Jars dinnerware has been handmade in the South of France since 1857. It has retained the same vision and philosophy since their beginning: a love of beautiful products and artisanal savoir-faire, with an appreciation of the value of hand craftsmanship in France. Each piece of Jars ceramics is made from high quality raw materials that are fired once at 2345 F becoming vitrified - the process that causes the china and glaze to melt and fuse together to form non-porous stoneware. Each piece passes through the hands of the ceramist 17 times before completion. Jars dinnerware is chip resistant, as durable as porcelain and is microwave and dishwasher safe.
