The designs, created by artist Shawn Laughlin, fuse a modern, graphic sensibility with such traditional New England themes as sea life and lobster bakes. Metallic and richly colored designs pop from the luminous white porcelain bases. The dishes and servingware are delicate to look at, but strong enough to last a lifetime.
